New Corridor to serve as a relief route along U.S 83. The $100 Million Freeway Phase II connects FM 2221 in La Joya, Texas to Interstate 2 near Showers Road in Penitas, Texas. It includes a new frontage road, high -rise connectors, and a sound barrier for adjacent neighborhoods. The construction of a four-lane controlled access highway is 5.12 miles long and is expected to reduce congestion, improve mobility and safety.
